Dette blir starten på det mest beryktede samarbeidet i Norge under hele okkupasjonen. Under påskudd av å være antinazister infiltrerte Rinnanbanden en rekke norske motstandsorganisasjoner i Trøndelag og på Nordvestlandet. Store nettverk ble rullet opp, gode nordmenn arrestert og torturert. Ettersom krigen skrider fram og Rinnanbanden etablerer seg i det såkalte Bandeklosteret, blir mishandlingen stadig verre.
