Las aportaciones recogidas en este volumen presentan la diversidad propia de la investigación en Didáctica de la Lengua. A lo largo de tres bloques temáticos, once investigadores coordinados por la Prof. Dra. Mª CARMEN FERNÁNDEZ TIJERO, se reúnen en torno al eje de enseñanza de la lengua. El primero de ellos, trata aspectos relacionados con la finalidad de dicha enseñanza.
