Esta obra discute “o estatuto ontológico das línguas” em áreas como a Linguística e a Linguística Aplicada. Questionando a centralidade do signo linguístico nos processos de significação, faz um convite à imaginação daquilo que chamamos língua como linguagens que articulam múltiplos recursos semióticos que se (re)agregam em determinados tempos-espaços interacionais. Essa reorientação desloca o foco analítico da linguagem em si para a colaboração de vários elementos – espaço, lugar, tempo, corpos, objetos, signos e textos – que atuam conjuntamente na produção de configurações sempre incompletas e imprevisíveis. Tal perspectiva contribui para pesquisas em campos afins como Comunicação, Educação e Ciências Sociais, entre outros.
