Lund Family
Torkild Timandsen Lund (1824-1895) and four of his thirteen brothers and sisters immigrated from Norway to Minnesota. Torkild was the first immigrant in 1851 and the others followed in 1856 and 1869. Descendants lived throughout the United States, although chiefly in Minnesota.

Nora and Terry wrote to family members asking them for stories of Wilson Lund and his wives. Nora and Terry then compiled these stories into this record. Wilson Lund was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England who migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, and later to Salt Lake City (Utah). He was a stone cutter.

Our one great grandfather Ohs/Ochs came from Germany/Prussia to the United States in 1863 where he went off to search for gold and ended up homesteading 160 acres of land in Rock County, Minnesota. Our other grandfather Laurits Peder Lund was born in Ribe, Demark and immigrated with his parents in 1880 where the family settled in Butler County, Iowa. He was ordained to the office of the Holy Ministry on a call from congregations at Luverne, Jasper, and Kenneth, Minnesota. So starts the Lund and Ohs genealogies family histories. We have found and included pictures, letters, and newspaper articles.
