A Série Movimentos Sociais e Educação visa contribuir com debate acerca dos movimentos sociais na atualidade. Neste volume, são apresentados textos que passam pela Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA), educação em espaços não escolares, Direito, educação nas relações étnico-raciais, dentre outros temas relacionados à educação, seja no campo ou na cidade.
Nesse volume, foram selecionados textos, cujo objetivo principal é promover e aprofundar o debate das temáticas que se entrecruzam nas relações dos movimentos sociais do campo e da cidade com a educação, oferecendo aos professores do ensino superior, gestores, estudantes, militantes de movimentos sociais e profissionais da educação básica uma opção de leitura sobre a temática.
Ao longo da história da sociedade brasileira, temos assistido aos partidos políticos e sindicatos, tanto da corrente capitalista quanto da socialista, tornarem-se ineficientes na representação dos interesses coletivos. Isso tem motivado o surgimento de novas formas de organização que conformaram os Movimentos Sociais, os quais expressam a busca pelo desenvolvimento sustentável, a Reforma Agrária, o direito à habitação, saúde, educação, as discussões sobre questões de gênero, dentre outros direitos de ser, estar e interagir com o outro. Nessa perspectiva, apresentamos o quarto volume da Série Movimentos Sociais e Educação, com a intenção de que possamos contribuir à descoberta dos desafios e das alternativas para a Educação do/no Campo.

About Trees considers our relationship with language, landscape, perception, and memory in the Anthropocene. The book includes texts and artwork by a stellar line up of contributors including Jorge Luis Borges, Andrea Bowers, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ada Lovelace and dozens of others. Holten was artist in residence at Buro BDP. While working on the book she created an alphabet and used it to make a new typeface called Trees. She also made a series of limited edition offset prints based on her Tree Drawings.
