This paper introduces the novel concept of KM-single valued neutrosophic metric spaces as an especial generalization of KM-fuzzy metric spaces, investigates several topological and structural properties and presents some of its applications. This study also considers the metric spaces and constructs KM-single valued neutrosophic spaces with respect to any given triangular norms and triangular conorms.
In this paper we study the concept of neutrosophic set of Smarandache. We have introduced this concept in soft sets and defined neutrosophic soft set. Some definitions and operations have been introduced on neutrosophic soft set. Some properties of this concept have been established.
This edited volume includes all papers presented at the 22nd International Conference on Mine Planning and Equipment Selection (MPES), Dresden, Germany, 2013. Mineral Resources are needed for almost all processes of modern life, whilst the mining industry is facing strict requirements regarding efficiency and sustainability. The research papers in this volume deal with the latest developments and research results in the fields of mining, machinery, automatization and environment protection.
This book contains the proceedings of the 2018 International Conference on Frontiers in Education: Computer Science and Computer Engineering (FECS'18). FECS is an international conference that serves researchers, scholars, professionals, students, and academicians who are looking to both foster working relationships and gain access to the latest research results.
This book explains the theoretical structure of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and focuses on the application of PSO to portfolio optimization problems. The general goal of portfolio optimization is to find a solution that provides the highest expected return at each level of portfolio risk. According to H. Markowitz’s portfolio selection theory, as new assets are added to an investment portfolio, the total risk of the portfolio’s decreases depending on the correlations of asset returns, while the expected return on the portfolio represents the weighted average of the expected returns for each asset. The book explains PSO in detail and demonstrates how to implement Markowitz’s portfolio optimization approach using PSO. In addition, it expands on the Markowitz model and seeks to improve the solution-finding process with the aid of various algorithms. In short, the book provides researchers, teachers, engineers, managers and practitioners with many tools they need to apply the PSO technique to portfolio optimization.
Molecularly Imprinted Catalysts: Principle, Synthesis, and Applications is the first book of its kind to provide an in-depth overview of molecularly imprinted catalysts and selective catalysis, including technical details, principles of selective catalysis, preparation processes, the catalytically active polymers themselves, and important progress made in this field. It serves as an important reference for scientists, students, and researchers who are working in the areas of molecular imprinting, catalysis, molecular recognition, materials science, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.Comprising a diverse group of experts from prestigious universities and industries across the world, the contri...
A First Course in Fuzzy Logic, Third Edition continues to provide the ideal introduction to the theory and applications of fuzzy logic. This best-selling text provides a firm mathematical basis for the calculus of fuzzy concepts necessary for designing intelligent systems and a solid background for readers to pursue further studies and real-world a
Electroencephalography (EEG) is an electrophysiological monitoring method used to record the brain activity in brain-computer interface (BCI) systems. It records the electrical activity of the brain, is typically non-invasive with electrodes placed along the scalp, requires relatively simple and inexpensive equipment, and is easier to use than other methods. EEG-based BCI methods provide modest speed and accuracy which is why multichannel systems and proper signal processing methods are used for feature extraction, feature selection and feature classification to discriminate among several mental tasks. This edited book presents state of the art aspects of EEG signal processing methods, with an emphasis on advanced strategies, case studies, clinical practices and applications such as EEG for meditation, auditory selective attention, sleep apnoea; person authentication; handedness detection, Parkinson's disease, motor imagery, smart air travel support and brain signal classification.
This book aims at providing an overview of state-of-the-art in both the theory and methods of intuitionistic fuzzy logic, partial differential equations and numerical methods in informatics. It covers topics such as fuzzy intuitionistic Hilbert spaces, intuitionistic fuzzy differential equations, fuzzy intuitionistic metric spaces, and numerical methods for differential equations. It reports on applications such as fuzzy real time scheduling, intelligent control, diagnostics and time series prediction. Chapters were carefully selected among contributions presented at the second edition of the International Conference on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Mathematical Science, ICIFSMAS, held on April 11-13, 2018, at Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane, in Morocco.
Giardia and Cryptosporidium are both parasites of considerable global interest due to the gastrointestinal problems the organisms can cause in humans as well as domestic and wild animals. This book presents a comprehensive overview of recent research. Chapters discuss topics from taxonomy, nomenclature and evolution to molecular epidemiology, advances in diagnostics and zoonotic, human and animal health issues.
