Precej travmatizirani brezposelni biolog srednjih let, oče treh otrok, se naenkrat znajde na sodišču, obtožen posilstva in umora. Takrat se zgrnejo sodna poročila, o njem govorijo ljubezenska pisma, kriminalistična poročila, psihološke analize, iz katerih detektivsko razbiramo, kdo je morilec, pa tudi kdo je pravzaprav Patrik Šelec. Tako se sestavlja mozaik, ki bo nujno nedokončan, nepopoln, saj vsak košček odseva drug obraz.
