Easypieces is published for the first New York museum solo presentation of work by Argentine artist Mika Rottenberg (born 1976). Employing absurdist satire to address the critical issues of our time, Rottenberg creates videos and installations that offer subversive allegories for contemporary life. Contributors include Samantha Frost, Associate Professor of Political Science and Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; Diana Coole, Professor of Political and Social Theory at the School of Politics of Sociology, Birkbeck, University of London; and Julia Bryan-Wilson, Professor of History of Art at the University of California, Berkeley, in an interview with Rottenberg. The catalog also features an overview by New Museum Curator Margot Norton. Easypieces is part of an ongoing series of solo exhibitions that provide a focused exploration of artists' practices and continues the New Museum's history of giving contemporary artists their first museum presentations in New York.

A comprehensive survey of the work of the influential Kenyan-American artist Wangechi Mutu Wangechi Mutu's multidisciplinary practice grapples with contemporary realities while proffering new models for a radically changed future informed by feminism, Afrofuturism, and interspecies symbiosis. Her work addresses some of today's most critical questions concerning historical violence and its impact on women, together with our inextricable ties toward one another, our ecosystems, and other life forms. Accompanying a major solo exhibition at the New Museum opening in February 2023, this expansive survey will trace the entirety of Mutu's influential career chronologically, from early sculptural works of the late 1990s to her collage works of the early 2000s and more recent video works, large-scale sculptures, and site-specific interventions. This monograph provides the opportunity to see thematic through-lines and progressions across the entire arc of Mutu's career to date. Her sculptures inaugurated the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Façade Project, and her work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Tate Modern, London, among other major institutions.

Recent film works from the international duo exploring cultural change Working together for a decade, artists Bárbara Wagner (born 1980, Brazil) and Benjamin De Burca (born 1975, Germany) produce films and video installations that feature protagonists engaged in cultural production. The duo typically collaborates with nonactors to make their films, from writing scripts to staging performances on camera. The resulting works are marked by economic conditions and social tensions present in the contexts in which they are filmed, giving urgency to new forms of self-representation through voice, movement and drama.
