Auf dem Weg zu einer Ethik pastoralen Handelns wird in diesem Sammelband der Versuch unternommen, die Dynamik der christlichen Botschaft aufzunehmen und in systematische Fragen zu integrieren. Heutige humanwissenschaftliche Voraussetzungen finden dabei ebenso Berücksichtigung wie konkrete Bereiche pastoralen Handelns. Early Modern Humans at the Moravian Gate
The Upper Paleolithic fossils of the Mladec caves, South Moravia, excavated at the end of the 19th century, hold a key position in the current discussion on modern human emergence within Europe and the fate of the Neanderthals. Although undoubtedly early modern humans - recently radio carbon dated to 31.000 years BP - their morphological variability and the presence of archaic features are indicative to some degree of regional Neanderthal ancestry. The beautifully illustrated monograph addresses - for the first time - the complete assemblage of the finds, including the human cranial, post cranial, teeth and jaw fragments of several individuals (most of them stored at the Natural History Museum Vienna) as well as the faunal remains and the archaeological objects. Leading scientists present their results, obtained with innovative techniques such as DNA analysis, 3D-morphometry and isotope analysis, which are of great importance for further discussions on both human evolution and archaeological issues.

Freude stellt ein zentrales Thema des christlichen Glaubens und der gegenwärtigen Kultur dar. Für die pastorale Praxis ist es daher von zukunftsweisender Bedeutung, sich der Freude zu vergewissern und diesbezüglich denk- und sprachfähig zu sein. Die vorliegende Studie versucht, zu diesem Projekt einen Beitrag zu leisten. Mittels der Methodik transversaler Weltentheologie werden hier fünf Optionen für eine zukunftsfähige Pastoral entwickelt und im Kontext aktueller pastoraltheologischer Forschung reflektiert. Mit diesen fünf Optionen liegen Diskussionsbeiträge im Hinblick auf eine zukünftige pastorale Praxis vor, die ihr zentrales Motiv darin sieht, christliche Freude als Glück zu kultivieren.
Dictionary of Jamaican English
The method and plan of this dictionary of Jamaican English are basically the same as those of the Oxford English Dictionary, but oral sources have been extensively tapped in addition to detailed coverage of literature published in or about Jamaica since 1655. It contains information about the Caribbean and its dialects, and about Creole languages and general linguistic processes. Entries give the pronounciation, part-of-speach and usage of labels, spelling variants, etymologies and dated citations, as well as definitions. Systematic indexing indicates the extent to which the lexis is shared with other Caribbean countries.
