The Dispositif
The notion of the dispositif (dispositive) is particularly relevant for understanding phenomena where one can observe the reproducibility of distributed technical activities, operational or discursive, between human and non-human actors. This book reviews the concept of the dispositive through various disciplinary perspectives, analyzing in turn its technical, organizational and discursive dimensions. The relations of power and visibility enrich these discussions. Regarding information and communication sciences, three main uses of this concept are presented, on the one hand to illustrate the heuristic scope of issues integrating the dispositive and, on the other hand, to demonstrate its unifying aspect in this disciplinary field. The first use concerns the complexity of media content production; the second relates to activity traces using the concept of the “secondary information dispositive”; finally, the third involves the use of the dispositive in contexts of digital participation.
La science de l'information : Origines, théories et paradigmes
Cet ouvrage de synthèse sur les fondements théoriques et épistémologiques de la science de l’information répond à trois questions : – existe-t-il une science de l’information à part entière ? – comment se définit l’information, objet de cette science ? – y a-t-il une spécificité française de la science de l’information ? Depuis quelques années maintenant, un certain nombre d'experts et d'organismes professionnels contribuent, en France, à promouvoir la démarche qualité et ses outils ; l'ADBS a déjà publié plusieurs travaux, relatifs à l'application de cette démarche aux activités d'information et de documentation. Cet ouvrage étudie les orientations des professionnels de l'information électronique en la matière : - ont-ils une démarche qualité et comment la mettent-ils en œuvre ? - sont-ils prêts à s'engager dans un processus de labellisation et de formalisation des critères d'évaluation de leurs produits et services ? Fondée sur une enquête auprès des producteurs de banques de données, cette recherche a été menée dans le cadre d'un travail de fin d'étude à l'Institut national des techniques de la documentation (INTD).
