Where No One Hears Me... The Inner Dialogue of a Lifer Convict
Born in Hagerstown, MD, Mark grew up in Jacksonville, FL. He left home at the age of 15, he wandered the streets of Jacksonville, worked the orange groves in Brooksville, FL, then moved to Aransas Pass, where he learned to weld. Mark joined the Army in 1974 and also met and married Teresa Mata. Mark served five years in the Army and was honorably discharged. Mark and Teresa have three children and six grandchildren. Mark was elected in 1988 and 1990 as Mayor of Ingleside, TX. In 1996 Mark was arrested and charged with murder. In 1997, a Rockport, TX jury led to a hung jury and then an acquittal at a second trial in San Antonio. However, in spite of the Double Jeopardy laws, the Federal Government retried Mark in Fresno, CA in 1999 where he was found guilty conviction. While Mark admits guilt in other charges he continues to maintain his innocence in that murder conviction. In prison, Mark has become proficient at writing and an accomplished artist.
The Janus Conspiracy
A massive conspiracy has been brewing in the USA since the end of WWII when two young American servicemen came home from the ruins of Berlin with stolen Nazi treasure and embarked on the creation of the "New America." Over fifty years they became the two richest men in the country and formed their secret committee consisting of some of the most powerful men in the nation, sufficiently well funded and connected to military, industrial, religious and political powers to establish control over the USA. A coup is planned after they have destabilised America by a series of murderous riots that kill tens of thousands. Only a small group of highly trained operatives learns about the conspiracy and is frantically working to destroy it as the day of the coup approaches. But not everything is as it seems, and neither the agents nor even the members of the Council for the New America know the real objectives of the Council's founders. The dreams of those two old men are far more complex, far more ambitious and far more lethal than any of them could possibly have envisaged.
The Bank Job
Clint walks into a bank in the town of Truxton, Nebraska, performs a transaction with a bank teller he thinks he recognizes. It takes him about a day to realize that he once saw the teller robbing a bank in a Missouri town, several years before. Has the man gotten himself a job at this bank, planning to rob it? He then realizes that he also recognizes a woman who works in the saloon. They were all part of the same gang of robbers. He decided to approach the man in a saloon one night and tell him that he knows him. The man denies it at first, but then admits that they all used to be bank robbers, but now they live in this town, and have honest jobs. And he thinks it’s funny that he has a bank job. Still unsure, Clint goes to the local law, but the sheriff says he knows these people, they’ve lived in town several years, and he believes they’re honest. Clint decides to stay in town, watch the “former” gang members, and see what happens. Will they rob the bank? And if they do can he stop them, or catch them? And when someone tries to bushwhack him, he has to determine if it was them or someone else.
