Experiencias de confinamiento
Estos relatos son el producto de experiencias personales que apelan a vivencias compartidas mediante un lenguaje que interviene los esquemas de la escritura académica para que los sentimientos, las experiencias de vida y las reflexiones fluyan a través de la escritura. El grupo de investigación Ciencia de la Información, Sociedad y Cultura, de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, apuesta por nuevas formas de crear que examinen los pormenores del mundo de la información a partir de un enfoque creativo y narrativo. Este enfoque permite reflexionar y proponer una visión del mundo, al tiempo que los distintos géneros narrativos y artísticos ofrecen una perspectiva específica. Justamente, los compiladores de este proyecto, los profesores Alfredo Luis Menéndez Echavarría, Aída Julieta Quiñones Torres y Mario Fernando Cuéllar Montealegre, invitaron a los autores a que realizaran una propuesta creativa en la que se diera cuenta de esas experiencias que atravesaron durante el confinamiento producido por la COVID-19.
Proceedings of the 50th Congress of the International Society for Applied Ethology
This book contains the abstracts of the presentations presented at the 50th annual meeting of the International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE), held in Edinburgh, UK. The enduring aim of the ISAE is to encourage and support basic and applied research into the behaviour of animals as related to their use by humans. Ever since a small group of veterinarians first met in Edinburgh to form the Society of Veterinary Ethology (SVE), inspirational ethologists and veterinarians have helped shape the field of Applied Ethology. Scientists such as Niko Tinbergen, Karl Von Frisch and Konrad Lorenz, joint awardees of the 1973 Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine, have played an important part in helping to develop this subject. The 2016 ISAE conference will bring together applied ethologists from all over the world to share new discoveries and to discuss ways forward, under the general conference theme of 'Past and Future: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants'.
Radical Women
This volume examines the work of more than 100 female artists with nearly 300 works in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance art, and other experimental media. A series of thematic essays, arranged by country, address the cultural and political contexts in which these radical artists worked, while other essays address key issues such as feminism, art history, and the political body. Published in association with the Hammer Museum. The exhibition took place from Sep 15, 2017-Dec 31, 2017, in the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles.

Why are historically Catholic countries and regions generally more corrupt and less competitive than historically Protestant ones? How has institutionalization of religion influenced the prosperity of countries in Europe and the Americas? This open access book addresses these critical questions by elucidating the hegemonic and emancipatory religious factors leading to these dissimilarities between countries. The book features up-to-date mixed methods from interdisciplinary research contributing to existing studies in the sociology of religion field by demonstrating--for the first time--the effect of the mutually reinforcing configuration of multiple prosperity triggers (religion--politics--environment). It demonstrates the differences in the institutionalization of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism by applying quantitative and qualitative methods and by performing a qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) of 65 countries. The author also provides a comprehensive survey and results of empirical research on different theories of development, focusing on the influence of religion.
