Chiefly letters (1840-1852) from Bacon to his wife, Margaret Bacon, dealing principally with family matters, with minor information concerning his shipping experiences; together with miscellaneous papers, including documents relating to the steam tugboat O.H. Hastings, deeds transferring the Bacon property to Mary Roberts Ebert, and description of the Bacon house by Elisabeth Roberts Ebert. There are no papers dated 1853-1918.
