Reconciliation
Hardly any other topic is as important for the coexistence of mankind as the question of justice and reconciliation. In this volume, we want to examine this important question from different interdisciplinary and international perspectives in order to develop an overall understanding that will contribute to reconciliation in various cultural and religious fields of conflict in the world. Particular attention will be paid to the theological perspective on reconciliation, in which justice and restoration of relationships play a central role.

Theologien der Migration
In den letzten 100 Jahren haben Kirchen und ökumenische Bewegungen vielfältige Ansätze für Theologien der Migration entwickelt. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht solche Ansätze aus der römisch-katholischen Kirche, dem Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen und der Lausanner Bewegung und entwirft davon ausgehend zeitgenössische ökumenische Positionen für eine Theologie der Migration im europäischen Kontext. Dabei stehen besonders Aspekte missionarischer Sendung, ökumenischer Begegnung und öffentlicher Theologie im Fokus der Arbeit. Die Studie bietet daher sowohl eine historische Einordnung von Theologien der Migration im globalen Christentum als auch theologische Impulse für heutige Debatten zu Migration in Theologie, Kirche und Gesellschaft.

Martin Niemöller - Brüche und Neuanfänge
Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) galt nach 1933 als die eine herausragende Persönlichkeit in Deutschland, deren Unbeugsamkeit die totalitären Züge des Nationalsozialismus offenbar machte. Im Dezember 1940 hieß es über Niemöller auf der Titelseite des Wochenmagazins Time: "Martyr of 1940: In Germany only the cross has not bowed to the swastika." In diesem Band werden die internationale Rezeption Niemöllers in Frankreich, Großbritannien, den Niederlanden, Tschechien und den USA erstmals für die Forschung analysiert. Zudem wird in Auseinandersetzung mit den vier seit 2017 erschienenen Biographien die Haltung Niemöllers gegenüber der Weimarer Demokratie, dem Machtantritt der Nationalsozialisten sowie der Entrechtung jüdischer Menschen neu bewertet und zu seinem friedenspolitischen, antirassistischen und frauenpolitischen Engagement in der Nachkriegszeit in Beziehung gesetzt. Insgesamt erscheint Niemöller als eine Gestalt mit Brüchen, die sich von nationalen Mustern zu lösen begann und sich in beständigen Neuanfängen zu einem führenden Vertreter eines weltoffenen Protestantismus entwickelte.
