Et, süt, balık gibi proteinli gıdalardan; hurma, üzüm ve buğday gibi karbonhidratlı gıdalara ve bilhassa şifâ veren süt ve baldan bahsedilerek tedavi ediciliğine dikkat çekilmiştir. Kur’ân-ı Kerîm’de bu ve benzeri gıda maddelerinin adları geçmekle birlikte bunlar hakkında ayrıntılı bilgi verilmemiştir. Zaten böyle bir tafsilât da Kur’ân’ın indiriliş gâyesine uygun değildir. Bununla birlikte yüzlerce gıda maddesi arasından Kur’ân’da bunlardan sadece 25 kadarının isminin geçmesi de boş ve maksatsız değildir. Zaman ilerledikçe adı geçen bu gıdaların, insan vücudu için gerekli yapı taşları içerdiği, sağlıklı yaşamada ve tabiî beslenmede önemli bir rol oynadığı anlaşılmıştır.
