Cada día se toma mayor conciencia sobre la importancia del medio ambiente para el desarrollo de la vida humana sobre el planeta. Los recursos naturales como proveedores y receptores de los servicios públicos domiciliarios se constituyen en los protagonistas de una historia que se debe reescribir. Así, junto a la importancia de garantizar la prestación en condiciones de eficiencia, calidad e igualdad a todos los habitantes del territorio nacional, surge el interés de salvaguardar los recursos naturales del creciente deterioro ambiental. Por esta razón, ahora, más que nunca es necesario dar estricto cumplimiento a las disposiciones normativas y administrativas que propenden por darle los recursos naturales renovables un uso y aprovechamiento racional, en especial, en la prestación de los servicios públicos domiciliarios. Lo invitamos a leer los aportes realizados por los autores en torno a las dinámicas que cada día deben enfrentar las personas prestadoras de servicios públicos domiciliarios en su relación con el medio ambiente y las normas que lo regulan.

Fundamentos Del Derecho Disciplinario Colombiano
El Derecho Disciplinario en Colombia ha evolucionado y se ha consolidado bajo la premisa de la autonomía e independencia funcional respecto de sus principales mentores e n épocas recientes, como lo era el Derecho Administrativo o el Derecho Penal. Ciertamente derecho sancionatorio o contravencional administrativo y derecho penal son especies del género ius puniendi, empero, también lo es el derecho disciplinario, de tal manera que existe entre ellos una conexión estructural, que no dependencia, que muestran a éste como una nueva disciplina de imperiosa y necesaria observación, para los efectos de cumplir con los cometidos de la función pública en un Estado Social y Democrático de Derecho. En el texto se encontrará, bajo las anteriores premisas, los fundamentos que soportan la idea de una Dogmática del Derecho Disciplinario.

Cognitive Activation in the Mathematics Classroom and Professional Competence of Teachers
This work reports the findings of the Professional Competence of Teachers, Cognitively Activating Instruction, and Development of Students ́ Mathematical Literacy project (COACTIV). COACTIV applies a broad, innovative conceptualization of teacher competence to examine how mathematics teachers’ knowledge, beliefs, motivational orientations, and self-regulation skills influence their instructional practice and teaching outcomes In this project data was collected on various aspects of teacher competence and classroom instruction from the perspective of both the teachers themselves and their students. Moreover, it gauges the effects of these teacher characteristics on student learning, as indexed by the progress students in each class. Questions addressed in the study which are reported in this volume include: What are the characteristics of successful teaching? What distinguishes teachers who succeed in their profession? How can the quality of instruction be improved?
