Atlas of Ecosystem Services
This book aims to identify, present and discuss key driving forces and pressures on ecosystem services. Ecosystem services are the contributions that ecosystems provide to human well-being. The scope of this atlas is on identifying solutions and lessons to be applied across science, policy and practice. The atlas will address different components of ecosystem services, assess risks and vulnerabilities, and outline governance and management opportunities. The atlas will therefore attract a wide audience, both from policy and practice and from different scientific disciplines. The emphasis will be on ecosystems in Europe, as the available data on service provision is best developed for this region and recognizes the strengths of the contributing authors. Ecosystems of regions outside Europe will be covered where possible.

Urban Landscapes in High-Density Cities
The positive effects of urban green spaces are well-known, ranging from the promotion of health, support of biodiversity to climate regulation. However, the practical implementation of urban landscapes is less discussed. How can we make these spaces functional, economically feasible and inclusive, especially as cities become more diverse? The publication explores strategies to reconcile the various demands, such as food production, resilience and nature conservation. Indeed, urban landscapes have to be restorative, ecological and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. This is a particular challenge in high-density cities like Singapore, Seoul or New York where space is a scarce commodity. The continuing growth of the worldwide urban population imbues the topic with a special urgency.

Umweltgerechtigkeit und sozialökologische Transformation
Die sozialökologische Transformation ist in aller Munde. Dies gilt sowohl für die politischen Debatten wie auch für die Wissenschaft. Dabei wird zunehmend deutlich: Multiple Krisen lassen sich nicht mehr nur mit Hilfe schrittweiser (Umwelt-)Politiken lösen, sondern es sind strukturelle Veränderungen notwendig. Die Beiträger*innen des Bandes arbeiten Gerechtigkeitsfragen und die gesellschaftspolitische Brisanz ökologischer Verteilungskonflikte im Kontext der Transformation heraus. Durch ihre Analysen unter Bezugnahme auf unterschiedliche Dimensionen von Umweltgerechtigkeit machen sie diese greifbar und liefern Kontextwissen für eine längst überfällige Diskussion.
Die Nachhaltigkeitsorientierung von kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU)
In dieser Arbeit wird eine tragfähige Konzeption eines betrieblichen Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements entwickelt, die die Besonderheiten von KMU berücksichtigt und dadurch Verantwortungsübernahme und Erfolg sichert. Es wird gezeigt, dass dem Unternehmer eine herausragende Rolle bei der Anwendung der Konzeption und der Überwindung der Barrieren der Nachhaltigkeitsorientierung von KMU zugesprochen werden muss. Ebenso werden die dafür notwendigen Leistungsbeiträge und Machtquellen des Unternehmers als Universalpromotor dargestellt. Für die praktische Anwendung der Konzeption hält die Arbeit einen Leitfaden für KMU zur Umsetzung eines betrieblichen Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements bereit.
