Restart Book One of the Shadow Killer Series By: Nabeeha Haque On her way to school one morning, 12-year-old Brea Millard is hit by a car, and then wakes up transported to the Coquelicot Boarding School for Mages and Wizards. There, she encounters a harrowing series of trials and adventures, some terrifying, some hilarious, trying to carry out the crucial mission that has been put on her. The theme: The ones you least expect are the ones who make a difference. The inspiration: When looking back in history or even today the world can be cruel. Nabeeha Haque wants people to see that no matter how we look, speak, or act, we are all living beings working to make the most out of our life. As Osho Rajneesh has once said, “The real question is not whether life exists after death. The real question is whether you are alive before death.”
In a career spanning seven decades, Qurratulain Hyder (1927–2007) achieved distinction as a novelist, journalist, translator, and innovator in Urdu literature. To shed new light on this multilingual itinerant woman with a curatorial eye, the present study turns to Hyder’s genre-bending reportage writing, which has not yet garnered the same scholarly attention as her majestic novels and short stories. At once autobiographical, admonitory, journalistic, and lyrical, these reportages offer glimpses of Hyder’s multigenerational erudition, artistry, and mastery of Perso-Urdu poetic aesthetics, as well as the challenges she faced when breaking from histories freighted by patriarchal, colonial, and nationalist enterprises.
Forage crops are an essential component of livestock’s diet. Production and availability of sufficiently good quality forage under diverse ecological dynamics are fundamental to develop an efficient and productive livestock industry. Growers worldwide, especially in developing and underdeveloped countries, face significant challenges in producing sufficient winter fodder. The livestock population is increasing at high rates, and its feed requirement is increasing accordingly. Fodder crops are the leading and cheapest source of feed for livestock; however, the shortage of fodder production is the primary limiting factor for livestock production. This book features an extensive overview of l...
Agronomic crops have been used to provide foods, beverages, fodders, fuels, medicines and industrial raw materials since the dawn of human civilization. Today, agronomic crops are being cultivated by employing scientific methods instead of traditional methods. However, in the current era of climate change, agronomic crops are subjected to various environmental stresses, which results in substantial yield loss. To meet the food demands of the ever-increasing global population, new technologies and management practices are being adopted to boost yield and maintain productivity under both normal and adverse conditions. Scientists are now exploring a variety of approaches to the sustainable prod...
Spectroscopy enables the precise study of astronomical objects and phenomena. Bridging the gap between physics and astronomy, this is the first integrated graduate-level textbook on atomic astrophysics. It covers the basics of atomic physics and astrophysics, including state-of-the-art research applications, methods and tools. The content is evenly balanced between the physical foundations of spectroscopy and their applications to astronomical objects and cosmology. An undergraduate knowledge of physics is assumed, and relevant basic material is summarized at the beginning of each chapter. The material is completely self-contained and features sufficient background information for self-study. Advanced users will find it handy for spectroscopic studies. A website hosted by the authors contains updates, corrections, exercises and solutions, as well as news items from physics and astronomy related to spectroscopy. This book focuses on bladder cancer pathology, including primary bladder malignancies and other tumor varieties, with an emphasis on diagnostic pitfalls and clinical relevance. It also describes normal bladder histology, benign abnormalities with cancer mimickers, and cancer carcinogenesis, which are important subject matter for understanding bladder cancers, correct diagnosis, and differential diagnoses. Accurate diagnosis of bladder cancer plays a central role in daily pathology practice, clinical management, and prognosis. Advances in immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology have enhanced the accuracy of cancer pathology diagnoses. In addition to covering the anatomic and histologic features of bladder tumors, this book also reviews recent molecular and immunohistochemical advances in these areas. Recently updated clinical management information is also presented in this book. Written by experts in the field, Urinary Bladder Pathology serves as a useful resource for practicing pathologists, pathology trainees, and other health professionals who treat patients with bladder cancers.
