The 36th volume of the Journal of Metastable and Nanocrystalline Materials contains articles based on research results of the crystalline metal materials like that a molecular dynamic simulation of shock wave propagation in aluminium single crystal, the effect of various ternary additions on structure and properties of the nickel-titanium shape memory alloy and also of some parameters' optimisation of the ultrasonication treatment in the production of microbial nanocellulose. The results of the analysis of optical and photoluminescence properties of silicate phosphor, semiconductor oxides and yttrium phosphate nanocomposites are also presented. The catalytic activity of some nanomaterials was also investigated in two presented articles. This journal issue will be helpful to many specialists in applied materials science and nanotechnologies.
The 40th volume contains articles dedicated to the synthesis and analysis of the functional properties of ion-doped zinc oxide nanoparticles and titanium dioxide nanotubes; investigation of the corrosion behaviour of Cu-Fe alloys with a nanocrystalline structure as well as evaluation of black powder formation in natural gas transporting pipelines network. The structural, magnetic, and electrochemical properties of composite that contain conductive polymer and cobalt-manganese ferrite are also analysed here. The journal's volume will be helpful to specialists whose activity is related to functional nanomaterials and composites.
* Guidelines are provided on the reliability of various methods, as well as information for selecting the appropriate technique. * Unique coverage of the whole range of solubility measurements. * Very useful for investigators interested in embarking upon solubility measurements.
This is the first comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and multilingual bibliography on "Women and Gender in East Central Europe and the Balkans (Vol. 1)" and "The Lands of the Former Soviet Union (Vol. 2)" over the past millennium. The coverage encompasses the relevant territories of the Russian, Hapsburg, and Ottoman empires, Germany and Greece, and the Jewish and Roma diasporas. Topics range from legal status and marital customs to economic participation and gender roles, plus unparalleled documentation of women writers and artists, and autobiographical works of all kinds. The volumes include approximately 30,000 bibliographic entries on works published through the end of 2000, as well as web sites and unpublished dissertations. Many of the individual entries are annotated with brief descriptions of major works and the tables of contents for collections and anthologies. The entries are cross-referenced and each volume includes indexes.
Gas separation membranes offer a number of benefits over other separation technologies, and they play an increasingly important role in reducing the environmental impacts and costs of many industrial processes. This book describes recent and emerging results in membrane gas separation, including highlights of nanoscience and technology, novel polymeric and inorganic membrane materials, new membrane approaches to solve environmental problems e.g. greenhouse gases, aspects of membrane engineering, and recent achievements in industrial gas separation. It includes: Hyperbranched polyimides, amorphous glassy polymers and perfluorinated copolymers Nanocomposite (mixed matrix) membranes Polymeric magnetic membranes Sequestration of CO2 to reduce global warming Industrial applications of gas separation Developed from sessions of the most recent International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes, Membrane Gas Separation gives a snapshot of the current situation, and presents both fundamental results and applied achievements.
Russia employs a sophisticated social media campaign against former Soviet states that includes news tweets, nonattributed comments on web pages, troll and bot social media accounts, and fake hashtag and Twitter campaigns. Nowhere is this threat more tangible than in Ukraine. Researchers analyzed social media data and conducted interviews with regional and security experts to understand the critical ingredients to countering this campaign.
This book discusses all aspects of pulmonary pathology, including different bacterial, viral, fungal, mycoplasma and protozoan pathogens, accompanied by illustrations that show macro- and histopathological changes. It also presents microbiological, epidemiological and clinical data, with a particular focus on pneumonias of different bacterial aetiologies, influenza, and other viral infections. Further, the book explores the importance of mixed infections, including those in the late stages of HIV infections and virus-bacterial pneumonias, as well as pathological changes in modern tuberculosis, lung granuloma, and respiratory tract inflammation in different age groups.
Up-to-date and written by leading experts, this book is unique in a rapidly expanding field. It provides in-depth discussions and descriptions of the materials, electronic properties and applications of phthalocyanines. Aspects of phthalocyanines covered include * synthesis * polymer aspects * electronic spectroscopy * excited state chemistry and physics * chemical sensors * biological aspects (e.g. photodynamic therapy of cancer) The numerous tables, chemical structures, and references are particularly handy source materials for both the novice and experienced researcher and industrial practitioner interested in phthalocyanines.
This volume is a collection of papers, mostly state-of-the-art reviews, describing main topics of current research in Applied Thermodynamics. The papers deal with measurements of thermodynamic properties which are important for process design in chemical and related industries as well as for theoretical investigations of pure fluids and mixtures. Besides measuring techniques, methods are reviewed for the processing and correlation of experimental data.
