Terroristische Netzwerke oder Gruppen des organisierten Verbrechens agieren multinational und in verschiedenen Sprachen. Zur Aufklärung schwerer Straftaten kann die Polizei die Telefone, Fahrzeuge oder Wohnungen dieser Personen akustisch überwachen. Dabei kommen regelmäßig Sprachmittlerinnen und Sprachmittler zum Einsatz. Ihre Arbeit kann den Erfolg polizeilicher Ermittlungen entscheidend beeinflussen. Dieses Buch präsentiert erstmals und aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive eine Gesamtschau der Tätigkeit der KÜ-Sprachmittlung im Rahmen strafrechtlicher Ermittlungen. Den Verfasserinnen ist es gelungen, die theoretischen Grundlagen ihrer Disziplinen, der Rechtswissenschaft, Übersetzungs- und Dolmetschwissenschaft, zu fusionieren.
