Four years ago, Nicolo Marchetti took my innocence. But he left me with something else— Nicolo almost took everything from me. My virginity, my reputation, and very nearly my future. The heir to a mafia fortune, he’s arrogant, cocky, and devastatingly handsome—and I only just escaped him. But he left me with something that means I can never forget. Now, with the help of my aunt, I’m raising my daughter and pursuing my dream of being a ballerina. All I want is to fulfil my late parents’ wishes and move on with my life—and when I start fresh at Rosehill Academy, I think I’ve accomplished that. Until he appears again. He doesn’t remember me. He doesn’t know he gave me a child....
This book reports on a public archaeology project carried out at the ancient site of Tilmen Höyük in south-eastern Turkey. The project developed and applied new methodologies and advanced technologies for the planning, design, conservation and management of an archaeological park at a site of high cultural, environmental and touristic interest, representing a significant study case for other archaeological sites in the Mediterranean area and beyond. It highlights state-of-the-art techniques of remote sensing, both for archaeological surveying and for territorial and environmental analysis through the study of high-definition aerial photos and digital photogrammetry. It also takes into acco...
The discovery of 17,000 tablets at the mid-third millennium BC site of Ebla in Syria has revolutionized the study of the ancient Near East. This is the first major English-language volume describing the multidisciplinary archaeological research at Ebla. Using an innovative regional landscape approach, the 29 contributions to this expansive volume examine Ebla in its regional context through lenses of archaeological, textual, archaeobiological, archaeometric, geomorphological, and remote sensing analysis. In doing so, they are able to provide us with a detailed picture of the constituent elements and trajectories of early state development at Ebla, essential to those studying the ancient Near East and to other archaeologists, historians, anthropologists, and linguists. This work was made possible by an IDEAS grant from the European Research Council.
To save my family, I’ve been sold to our enemy. Pyotr Veles is heir to New York’s most treacherous Bratva. He’s also cold, calculating, cruel–and my husband-to-be. But the terms of the truce that will save the ones I love are clear. My marriage to Pyotr will prevent a mafia war that could shatter both of our families. My new fiance is skilled at playing the perfect prince. Enough so that he convinces me to give up my virginity. But afterward he spares little of the pretense. I’m nothing more than a means to an end to him. My part, I’m told, is simple. All I have to do is be his loyal bride. But my role seems far less simple when I get pregnant before our wedding night. And this game of playing Pyotr’s pretty little princess isn’t one I’m sure I can survive. Pretty Little Princess is a full-length STANDALONE and the final story in the Rosehill Academy saga. The reading order for the standalones within the Rosehill Academy series is as follows: Book 1: Pretty Little Lies Book 2: Pretty Little Toy Book 3: Pretty Little Game Book 4: Pretty Little Princess

Taką świadomość miał zresztą już w latach dwudziestych XX wieku Herbert George Well...
How were narratives composed in the ancient Near East? What patterns and principles, constraints and considerations guided the shaping of cuneiform stories? The study of narrative structures has emerged as a promising approach to the textual heritage of the cuneiform world. Engaging with practically any ancient text—whether literary, historical, or religious—requires some understanding of the narrative forms that shaped their content. This volume gives researchers the tools to better understand those form, illustrating each approach to narrative analysis with a case study from the cultures of the ancient Near East: Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Hittite.
This volume challenges patrimonialism as a political model for the ancient Near East by engaging with letters and legal texts concerning royal women at Late Bronze Age Ugarit, demonstrating women’s pivotal roles in the exercise of power, and then bringing these insights to bear on the Hebrew Bible. The book offers a new vision of how women figure in ancient political systems. Through an analysis of royal letters, legal verdicts, and regional records, it examines overt claims and implicit anxieties concerning the pivotal roles of royal women. Three case studies from Late Bronze Age Ugarit reveal that a single woman functioning in a range of modalities—mother, daughter, sister, and wife—...
The book is a re-examination of the Old Testament and historic figures contained therein, plus a glimpse into the life of Jesus. The author finds fault with the chronologies of both archbishops Usher and Edwin Thiele, while showing a more accurate one for the Hebrew histories to have occurred using various disciplines. (Such as archeology, Assyriology, astronomy, Biblical studies, church history, Egyptology, Historic Geology, and Paleography.)
