Purpose of volume is to develop perspectives and guidelines relevant to the design and implementation of territorial and marine conservation strategies, and to scale these to both locally based plans and broader circumpolar interests. Constitutes the proceedings of a workshop. Considers the process of design and implementation of conservation strategies for achieving sustainable development in the Canadian North.
Integrates the aims and objectives already proposed in the Yukon Economic Strategy and the Yukon Conservation Strategy with those of the National Task Force on the Environment and Economy. Priority is to support environmentally sound economic growth for the territory, then the nation.
