This review examines the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service (PPS) handling of the case of R. v. Curragh, Phillips and Parry, commonly called the Westray case. The case involves charges of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death against the operators of the Westray coal mine, where an explosion in May 1992 killed 26 men working underground.
