Experiments and demonstrations are conducted in support of the Earth being flat, with the astronomical bodies situated above, rather than around it. Most of these are framed with illustrations and diagrams, that the reader understands Rowbotham's notions. Various chapters concern motion of the heavenly bodies, sunrises, sunsets, the tidal movements, and distances of the Sun and Moon from Earth.

In the year 1907 the author made a remarkable discovery which convinced him that the sun was very much nearer to the earth than was generally supposed. The fact he had discovered was demonstrated beyond all doubt, so that he was compelled to believe thatÑhowever improbable it might seemÑastronomers had made a mistake when they estimated the distance of the sun to be ninety-three millions of miles. The author has taken the unusual course of submitting these new and startling theories for the consideration of the general public because the responsible scientific societies in London, Washington and Paris, failed to deal with the detailed accounts of the work which he forwarded to them in the Spring of 1920. He believes that every newly-discovered truth belongs to the whole of mankind, wherefore, if those whose business it is to consider his work fail in their duty he does not hesitate to bring it himself direct to the people, assured of their goodwill and fair judgment.

While researching information for the publication of my 9th book The Flat Earth As Key To Decrypt The Book Of Enoch, I was led to understanding that not only does the Bible support premise that the earth is a flat circular plane but that it is covered by the firmament as a solid transparent dome like canopy. This led me to revisit the canonical and extra Biblical texts such as The Book Of Enoch, The Book Of Jasher, The Book Of Jubilees, and myriad others, to see if not only did they affirm such idea but if they contained other little known insight which might expound upon this matter in some detailed manner. This book is the end result of that search and compilation of all of those source references. And because I include in this study much extra Biblical material which few are familiar with, I doubt one will be able to find a more complete investigation of the firmament as topic than that which is presented here.
