Finanzielle Entscheidungen sind vielschichtig und komplex. Dabei spielen neben rationalen Überlegungen (klassische ökonomische Modelle) und psychologischen Aspekten (Behavioral Finance) jedoch auch zahlreiche neuronale Einflussfaktoren eine wichtige Rolle. Mit diesen beschäftigt sich die sog. Neurofinance, die neuroökonomische Methoden speziell auf Fragestellungen finanzieller Entscheidungen anwendet und die im Zentrum dieses Buches steht. Dessen übergeordnetes Ziel ist die Gestaltung eines ganzheitlichen, anwendungsorientierten, neuronal modifizierten Decision Frameworks zur Verbesserung der Entscheidungsfindung im Investmentprozess von Privatanlegern mithilfe der Methodik des hierfür neuentwickelten Neurofinancial Engineerings. Letzteres wird dabei als systematisches Konstruieren eines normativen, neuroökonomisch modifizierten Entscheidungsrahmens im Kontext finanzieller Entscheidungen verstanden. Dazu werden für alle wichtigen Schritte und Aktivitäten im Investmentprozess verschiedene relevante neuronale Effekte und deren mögliche negative Auswirkungen beschrieben und anschließend potenzielle Korrektivmaßnahmen zur Verringerung derselben diskutiert.
