Nostradamus, Bibliomancer

Do you think Nostradamus, the famous 16th century "Prophet of Provence," was some kind of magician, perhaps a doctor, astrologer, and seer, too? If so, Peter Lemesurier's revelation that he was really just an ordinary man using an equally ordinary technique may come as a shock. After re-examining the original sources, Lemesurier concludes that Nostradamus was in fact neither a doctor nor an astrologer, nor even (by his own admission) a prophet. He merely believed that history repeats itself, thus and projected known past events onto the future. To do so, he used the process of bibliomancy—randomly selecting extracts of randomly chosen books, then claiming "divine inspiration." Unsurprisingly, he has almost never been proved right.

'Nostradamus, Prophet of Provence' is a uniquely comprehensive critical biography of the famous French seer by Peter Lemesurier, widely regarded as the world's leading English-language Nostradamus specialist. Stretching from the prophet's youth to his death, it takes the form of a historical novel comprising a series of imaginative cameos, with the author acting as a kind of 'Devil's Advocate' against whom Nostradamus himself constantly argues, assuming him to be some kind of visionary 'demon'. The book consequently contains many little-known insights into the seer's aims, activities and working methods, and shows him struggling with the need to establish himself as a 'doctor', 'astrologer' ...

Nostradamus

Dramatic and exciting, yet at the same time practical, down-to-earth and remarkably convincing, Peter Lemesurier takes a year-by-year look at what might lie ahead. He compares the verse predictions of Nostradamus against the predictions of other major seers and prophets and sets them all against a definite timescale. The future of the Popes, the coming Islamic invasion and the virtual destruction of southern and western Europe, the seige of Britain, the long-delayed Western counter-attack, the ensuing age of peace and plenty, the era of renewed cataclysm and decline, the eventual extraterrestrial saviours and the ultimate transformation of humanity - all are spelt out. Lemesurier cites the actual predictions from Nostradamus and the other sources so that the reader can assess how likely they are to happen and measure them against actual events as they unfold.

Gods of the Dawn

The Pyramids of Giza are one of the great wonders of the world--but what if they were built not by the Ancient Egyptians, nor even by the legendary Atlanteans, but by a still more ancient civilization from outside our solar system? This book presents the theory that the Egyptian Pyramids are part of an ancient star map--a message in stone from a vastly superior intelligence, designed to guide us through the present, steer us towards the future and finally summon us to the stars.
