Diary of Hinman Rhodes
Typewritten transcription of a diary of Colonel Hinman Rhodes telling of his mustering out of the Union Army near Brownsville, Texas, in 1866; of his return to Illinois; and of his setting up in a store in partnership with Captian R. B. Presson in Tecumseh, Nebraska. The diary commences with January 1 1866 and leaves off at December 31, 1866. Hinman Rhodes is the father of novelist Eugene Manlove Rhodes. The location of the original diary is unknown.
