Scrapbook containing various items written by or of interest to Sewall. Includes list of members, minutes, etc.,1866, of the Johnson Club of Wiscasset, formed to support Pres. Andrew Johnson and his Reconstruction policy; as well as Sewall's notes on the beginnings of New England in Maine; and newspaper clippings pointing out errors in various publications about this subject. Also contains letter, 1895 March 29, written by Sewall from Wiscasset, Me., to Geo. P. Putnam and Son, concerning a book by J. W. Glidden on ancient voyages and the French at St. Croix in 1604, being published by Putnam. Sewall writes various criticisms of the book and offers to work on a possible second edition if needed.
