Edgewater

It is not enough to say that Edgewater is unique. Nestled on a strip of land between the Hudson River and the base of the Palisades, Edgewater is an anomaly; its geography has made it all but an island with only four roads connecting it to the contiguous municipalities. With stunning photographs, Edgewater follows the development of the community from a day-trip vacation destination for residents of nearby Manhattan, through its industrial years of the early 1900s, to its rebirth as a residential suburb.

An Introduction to the 'Glossa Ordinaria' as Medieval Hypertext

The Glossa Ordinaria, the medieval glossed Bible first printed in 1480/81, has been a rich source of biblical commentary for centuries. Circulated first in manuscript, the text is the Latin Vulgate Bible of St. Jerome with patristic commentary both in the margins and within the text itself. This study, the first of its kind, introduces the reader to the Glossa Ordinaria both historically and through the lens of contemporary hypertext theory, arguing that the Glossa Ordinaria is a hypertext of the mind. By application of ancient, medieval and modern theories, this study encourages the reader to engage the Glossa Ordinaria in new and exciting ways. This book serves both as primer on the Glossa Ordinaria and examination of the text in light of modern theories.

Crop Management

Agricultural production is related to physical constrains, which may not always be overcomed by technology. However, under the same conditions, it is possible to see well-managed farms consistently making greater profits than similarly structured, neighboring farms. For each abiotical condition, it is well-known there is a difference between the potential and observed yields, which is usually high and often could be reduced through more appropriate management techniques. In this book, we have a selection of agricultural problems encountered in different regions of the world which were addressed using creative solution, offering new approaches for well-known techniques and new tools for old problems.
