Ruth Mary Gaskell (1918- ) was born in Bemis, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles James Gaskell and Ruth Mary Symonds. She was descended on her father's side from Edward and Sarah Gascoyne, who settled in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1636; and on her mother's side from Robert Symonds and Tamson Walden, who lived in Wenham, Massachusetts, before 1678. The histories of both lines are included.
