The first of an eight-volume series, The Literature of the Agricultural Sciences, this book analyzes the trends in the published literature of agricultural economics and rural sociology during the past fifty years. It uses citation analysis and other bibliometric techniques to identify the primary journals, report series, and monographs of current importance to the developed industrial countries as well as those in the Third World.
Report of a study to examine the concept of sustainability in information systems and to determine its feasibility; to study ways, means and methods employed by information systems to attain sustainability; and to suggest how sustainability features could be built into IDRC-supported projects, eventually enabling them to attain either partial or whole sustainability. Information was gathered through a questionnaire survey, a study of the project completion reports, visits to information systems in the Caribbean and North America, a delphi survey, and a literature analysis.
