Electrochemical Water Oxidation at Iron(III) Oxide Electrodes
Sandra Haschke presents a strategy to enhance the Fe2O3 electrode performance by controlled nanostructuring of the catalyst surface, based on anodized aluminum oxide coated by means of atomic layer deposition. Furthermore, she investigates the influence of underlying conductive layers and post-deposition annealing on the electrode performance and the associated changes in morphology and chemical composition. Exploiting all effects combined delivers an increase in steady-state water oxidation throughput by a factor of 2.5 with respect to planar electrodes.

Schools for the Future
Drawing on the perspectives of architectural psychology, set against the historical development of school building in the United States, Japan and Germany, the authors’ vision is to create places where we would want to relive our own school days. The book takes the position that user design, control of stress factors and control of communication (privacy, retreats) should be allowed to modify the original architectural design to flexibly accommodate future changing requirements. The development and application of criteria for assessing functional, aesthetic, social-physical, ecological, organizational and economical aspects to various parts of the school complex call for a common language for the design process. The appendix presents 24 innovative schools from countries in five continents.

George Hanns and Mary Ann Braund, Their Descendants and Ancestors
George Hanns Braund was born 15 July 1813 in Higher Grenicombe, Devonshire, England. His parents were John Brand and Elizabeth Hanns Lang. He married Mary Ann Baskerville, daughter of Richard Baskerville and Mary Weeks, 9 August 1836. They had eight children. They emigrated in 1851 and settled in Adams County, Wisconsin. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas and California.
