Practical SharePoint 2010 Information Architecture is a guide and tool set for planning and documenting the scope, navigational taxonomy, document taxonomy, metadata, page layouts and workflows for a successful SharePoint 2010 project. If you have been tasked with delivering an intranet for collaboration, document management or as a corporate portal, your only chance for success is to get all of these elements right, and then to make sure that you and your stakeholders are all on the same page. SharePoint 2010 can be dangerous to your career: Expectations are often set very high, and not enough time is invested in understanding how those expectations can be met. Many SharePoint 2010 projects...
Hope in the Wait of Suffering is a personal, intimate, heartfelt journey, expecting the fulfillment of God's promise. Sarah, having had bone cancer at the age of seven, was scheduled for her first post-surgery bone scan to determine if cancer had metastasized. Taking the quiet time and praying, seeking God's assurance and peace about the bone scan, a thought was impressed on my heart. Scripture? As I searched the concordance, I found the verse in Psalm 91:16. "Him" in this verse was changed to "her," and it impressed me. I knew that this was God's promise to me. Trips to Milwaukee, chemotherapy, prosthesis after prosthesis as she was growing. From the onset of her recovery, she wanted to be a doctor. Eventually some years later, she graduated from grad school at UW Madison, nurse practitioner, summa cum laude. May 12, 2012, she was married the second time. Sarah married Greg. A beautiful celebration at the conservatory in Central Park, New York. A year later, she gave birth to Gisele. Several months later, Sarah told me she couldn't believe the effect she was having as she was drinking her first glass of wine. And then...

How can the fundamental digital change taking place in design and construction be actively used to bring about cultural change in architecture? By exploring robotic production methods and innovative material developments, Achim Menges and Jan Knippers have succeeded in developing genuine digital building systems that combine architectural elegance with effective construction. The book provides an insight into ten years of joint research at the ICD and ITKE Institutes of Stuttgart University. Taking completed pavilions and buildings as examples, the authors demonstrate the viability of the underlying hypotheses that impressively push the limits of construction. Articles from international experts contribute to the current debate on architecture.
Automation, a mixture of algorithms, robots, software, and avatars, is transforming all types of jobs and industries. This book responds to one critical question for the design and construction industry: “how are architects, engineers, and contractors using information technology to further automate their practices?” Addressing the use of new digital technologies, particularly parametric automation for design and construction in the building industry, this book looks at how technologically advanced architectural and engineering practices are semi-automating their design processes by using sophisticated algorithms to transform their workflows. The book also documents a set of firms that are further advancing automation by using pre-fabrication, modularization, and custom designs via robotics.
