Session Cases is Scotland's most commanding series of law reports and takes precedence over all other law report series in Scotland. The Practice Notes of the Court of Session and the High Court of Justiciary reflect this by saying Where a case has been reported in Session Cases it must be cited from that source. The authority of this publication is for good reason. Session Cases contains all the key appellate decisions, civil and criminal, from the Court of Session and High Court of Justiciary in Scotland, together with selected cases decided at first instance. Also included are all decisions, as issued, on Scottish appeals to the House of Lords and the Privy Council. All judgements are reported in full, and uniquely in Scotland the judges see proofs of each report of the cases they have heard, for checking and for comment. Reasons why you need Session Cases: Precedence - Cases reported in Session Cases must be cited from that source; Authority - Brought together by an expert author team; Accuracy - Reports reviewed by the judges; Currency - The objective is to report cases within six months of judgement; Ease of Use - Reported in an easy to reference style.
