However, I can’t always look at it from the other side. From having a happy and healthy childhood, going on adventures in the Dublin Mountains and Shankill and Killiney beaches ... Then becoming seriously ill. Finding out how bad the health service really is. Left to fight a very serious illness. On my own. I knew I was different from every other child, which would make my illness totally unique in my country. And maybe in the whole world. I have yet to come up with a name for my illness. Maybe call it O’Byrne’s Syndrome? Without causing offence to the O’Byrne clan. I just hope that my book. Will help others. Who have a serious and embarrassing illness and are living it alone. Blois Family History
The Blois family descends from the French Counts de Blois. Some descendants became Huegenots and were forced to flee France to England. There they dropped the de in the surname de Blois. Thomas Blois (b.1725) was the father of Abraham Blois (1747-1839). Abraham travelled to Canada as a soldier and eventually settled in Nova Scotia with his wife, Sarah Margaret Kilcup (1773-1849). They became the parents of fourteen children. Descendants live in Canada and the United States.

Miles to go before I sleep
The Race Around Ireland is a non-stop 2,200 km bicycle race that circumnavigates the island of Ireland anti-clockwise. It is held every year at the start of September and can be approached as a solo competitor, as a team of two, four or eight. In January of 2014, a group of cyclists from Maynooth Students for Charity Cycling Club decided to take on the challenge. They were told it was the toughest endurance race in Europe. This is the story, as told through the recollections of the participants, of how a bunch of Average Joes conquered the race and set a new Irish record time. It is a story of great adventure, of beating the odds, of battling inner demons and exceeding expectations. Ultimately it is a story of teamwork and lifelong friendship, because that's what won the race.
Dewoody Records
A genealogy of the descendants of George Dewoody and his wife Martha. They with their three sons left County Antrim, Northern Ireland in about 1784 for America. They settled in Venango County, Pennsylvania in 1796. George died before 1808 and Martha died 19 August 1826 at the age of 88 years. Includes families of George's brother, William who married Hannah Alexander in Washington County, Tennessee in 1791 and died in 1820 in Limestone County, Alabama. The other family included is that of Jeremiah Woody, born approximately 1780 in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He married Mary Ann Ellis and some descendants changed the name to "DeWoody."
