Aruna Roy resigned from the IAS in 1975 to work with peasants and workers in rural Rajasthan. In 1990 she helped co-found the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS). The MKSS struggles in the mid 90s for wages and other rights gave birth to the now celebrated Right to Information movement. Aruna continues to be a part of many democratic struggles and campaigns. This book is a collective history that tells the story of how ordinary people can come together and prevail against great odds, to make democracy more meaningful.
Oddziaływanie prawa międzynarodowego na sądownictwo konstytucyjne w Polsce – perspektywa konstytucyjna
Praca imponuje rozmachem i szerokością ujęcia, zwłaszcza ze względu na dostrzeżenie kompletnego katalogu problemów związanych z kwestiami prawa międzynarodowego jako przedmiotu i wzorca kontroli w postępowaniu przed TK oraz oddziaływań standardów międzynarodowych na ustrój, organizację i procedurę postępowania TK. Publikacja zapełnia istotną lukę w dorobku doktryny prawa. Pod względem warsztatowym bardzo dojrzała, a źródłowo – niezwykle rzetelnie udokumentowana. Trzeba też podkreślić, że Autorka zachowuje samodzielność ocen, oraz że monografia nie jest pozbawiona waloru praktycznego, pokazując, gdzie znajdują się granice oddziaływania prawa międzynarodowego (i do pewnego stopnia także europejskiego) na funkcjonowanie i działalność orzeczniczą sądu konstytucyjnego. The Representation of REFUGEES and MIGRANTS in European National Media Discourses from 2015 to 2017
Though the refugee crisis was discussed in many countries e.g. in Greece, Hungary, Italy and Spain long before 2015, it began to receive cross- European press coverage only after Angela Merkel’s statement ‘Wir schaffen das!’ on the August 30th 2015 This data-based study focuses on, how journalists report on and leading politicians make statements about refugees, migrants and asylum seekers in media and frame these humans after Angela Merkels’ sentence in 2015 until the end of 2017. This volume uses mainly Corpus Linguistics but also Communicative Science for the analysis of labelling strategies and the usage of words, collocations and grammar systems used by journalists and politicians in different European countries in comparison. This empirical volume pictures language specific variation and change of labels. To enable a contrastive study between the press discourses of many European countries, every chapter analyses the data consisting of newspaper articles describing the discourse of a particular country, including discourses of some transit countries around the borders of the Schengen Area of the European Union, which barely have been covered in other studies.

Stan badań na temat kultury rocka w polskim obszarze nauki jest jeszcze mało zaznaczony, jednak w ciągu kilkunastu ubiegłych lat można zauważyć wyraźną tendencję zwyżkową w tej dziedzinie. Na świecie, szczególnie w krajach anglosaskich, badania nad rockiem od wielu lat cieszą się niesłabnącą popularnością.
