Studien zum Altneolithikum in Italien
Während die jüngeren Epochen der italienischen Vorgeschichte und Geschichte nicht aus dem Gesamtbild der kulturellen Entwicklungen Europas wegzudenken sind, liegt in der Forschungslandschaft nördlich der Alpen nur sehr geringes Wissen zu den Anfängen der sesshaften Lebensweise mit all ihren wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und religiösen Neuerungen vor. Zugleich ist auch der Forschungsstand innerhalb Italiens auf Grund der deutlichen modernen politischen Gliederung des Landes uneinheitlich, und es fehlen übergeordnete Studien zu größeren vorgeschichtlichen Phänomenen. Diese Ausgangssituation führte zur Überlegung, Fragestellungen rund um das Altneolithikum, also die Zeit der ersten Ackerbauern und Viehzüchter, in Italien zum Gegenstand einer synthetischen Studie zu machen. Die einzelnen Untersuchungen fügen sich zuletzt zu einem Bild weiträumig agierender Bevölkerungen zusammen, die auch über die modernen Grenzen Italiens hinaus miteinander in Verbindung standen und eng miteinander verflochten waren.

Les résultats du programme de fouilles archéologiques du site de Hergla en Tunisie (1969-1971 ; 2002-2007). L'environnement lagunaire des chasseurs-cueilleurs épipaléolithiques, l'organisation de leur habitat et de leurs sépultures sont notamment analysés, ainsi que l'évolution des populations capsiennes locales à l'aube de la néolithisation de la région.

This publication originated during a session organized for the 15th European Archaeologist Conference, held in Riva del Garda (Trento - Italy) in September 2009, on the 'The chaîne opératoire approach to ceramics studies'. It was focused on the concept of the chaîne opératoire as applied in contemporary ceramics studies. Particular attention was given to experimental and archaeometrical approaches that allow for a better understanding of the technological aspects of a culture.

Communicative proficiency and linguistic development
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) has become the yardstick for teaching and testing language skills in Europe and elsewhere. Yet little is known about the relationships between the communicative levels established using the can-do statements of the CEFR and the developmental stages of grammatical and lexical development described by Second Language Acquisition (SLA) research. This book presents empirical research by members of the SLATE network (Second Language Acquisition and Testing in Europe), aimed at bridging this gap. The studies deal with several target languages, including Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Italian, Norwegian and Spanish, with adult, adolescent and child learners in both formal and informal contexts.
