The records consist of the programme for the official opening, acknowledgement by the Committee, a brief history of the schoolhouse, a list of official guests and committee members, an introductory speech by the convener of the committee (Mrs. George) and speeches by Archdeacon F. M. Hill (Anglican Church), Mr. L. D. Lyons (Roman Catholic Church), Reverend Rex Mathias (Methodist Church), Reverend Alan Watt (Presbyterian Church), Mr. A. H. Body (St. John's Parish Council) and Sir John Overall. There is also a copy of the agreement made between the Church of England and N.C.D.C. in 1967 in which the N.C.D.C. undertook to restore the schoolhouse.
The papers consist of reports on the following: the architecture of England and Northern Europe, government building in U.S.A., Canada, Germany and Great Britain, various National Capitals and Parliament Houses, the planning of Canberra, the site of Canberra's Parliament House and Australian growth centres. As well as reports, there are photographs of Sir John and members of the National Planning Committee, the Rocks area of Sydney, and the official openings of buildings, suburbs and roads in Canberra.
