Get your motor runnin' / head out on the highway / lookin' for adventure / and whatever comes our way... This publication is a homage to an imposing New York artist who was a considerable influence on the US art scene in the 1990s. Steven Parrino died in 2005 in a tragic accident on his Harley Davidson. The book's title refers to the song by Steppenwolf and provides a reference to the film Easy Rider by Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper. Parrino had a multifaceted identity as a networker, an initiator, an artist and musician which is reflected in the artist friends and colleagues who honour him. He left a diverse oeuvre behind: monochrome canvases, preferably in black, red and silver that protrude from the wall like reliefs, as well as a graphic work fed on set-pieces extracted from comics, underground magazines, erotica and song fragments.
