Människor och miljöer i gamla Clara Detta är en historisk stadsdelsbok för Klara i Karlstad och omspänner tiden från 1400-talet till idag, alltså 600 år. All ursprunglig bebyggelse är beskriven liksom ett mycket stort urval personer som bott eller verkat i Klara. Dessutom finns många gamla foton av människor och byggnader. Här finns avsnitt om de äldsta gårdarna Lilla Våxnäs och Sandbäcken, Hybelejens kvarn, Teatern, Västra bron, Västra tullen, Brännvinsbränneriet på Skutebacken, Hjulångaren Örn med mera. En mängd intressanta personer och familjer som bott i Klara beskrivs och flera har fått egna avsnitt, t ex Hybelejen, Elfdalingen, nordpols-fararen Knut Fraenkel, historieskrivaren Bror Billman, tidningsmannen Albin Forssell, familjen Lilljebjörn, lantmätaren A F von Wachenfeldt, sotarfamiljen Sundelius, konstnären Olof W Nilsson och poeten Nils Ferlin.
