The Story of Hungarian Folk
The first táncház in Budapest was held on May 6, 1972. It began as a private event for insiders, but within a year, it was swarming with urban youth. Thus began a grassroots revolution of dance, culture, and lifestyle, organized without political aims, which is referred to today as the táncház movement. And still, the táncház keeps attracting hundreds of thousands worldwide from Toronto to Tokyo. The expression táncház – literally: dance house – comes from Szék (Sic), a small Hungarian village in Transylvania, referring to their regular dance nights, and an opportunity for having fun, socializing, and dancing. And it soon became apparent that this rural folk tradition could also work in a contemporary urban environment. This book is the first comprehensive account of the history of Hungarian folk and world music. It is factual, yet easy to read. It sets out to present the social, cultural, and musical ingredients of folk music. It aims to analyse its trends, show the development of different styles, and introduce the key artists and evaluate their contribution to the genre.

Asymptotic Approximations of Integrals
Asymptotic Approximations of Integrals deals with the methods used in the asymptotic approximation of integrals. Topics covered range from logarithmic singularities and the summability method to the distributional approach and the Mellin transform technique for multiple integrals. Uniform asymptotic expansions via a rational transformation are also discussed, along with double integrals with a curve of stationary points. For completeness, classical methods are examined as well. Comprised of nine chapters, this volume begins with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of asymptotics, followed by a discussion on classical techniques used in the asymptotic evaluation of integrals, including Laplace's method, Mellin transform techniques, and the summability method. Subsequent chapters focus on the elementary theory of distributions; the distributional approach; uniform asymptotic expansions; and integrals which depend on auxiliary parameters in addition to the asymptotic variable. The book concludes by considering double integrals and higher-dimensional integrals. This monograph is intended for graduate students and research workers in mathematics, physics, and engineering.

2022. május 6-án van 50 éve annak, hogy a Liszt Ferenc téri könyvklubban megrendezték az első budapesti táncházat. Az egykori szűk szakmai kezdeményezés ma százezreket vonz világszerte, újabb és újabb generációk fedezik fel, és csak kevesen hagyják el. És bár többen többször temették, múltidézőnek, korszerűtlennek bélyegezték, ma is eleven valóság, mi több, exportképes magyar termék. A 208 oldalas, fotókkal gazdagon illusztrált Táncház 50 című kötet – mely formájában és terjedelmében igazodik a szerző korábbi műfajtörténeti műveihez – nem feltétlenül a szűk szakmának, hanem a szélesebb nagyközönségnek szól, szakszerű, de közérthető, olvasmányos stílusban. Benne a bevezető tanulmány, illetve az első budapesti táncház előzménye és születése mellett alapvetően a táncházmozgalom különböző szakaszában szocializálódott népzenészek, néptáncosok, koreográfusok mesélnek arról, hogy őket miért vonzotta delejként a népi kultúra és azt miként tartják relevánsnak ma is egy urbánus környezetben.
Quantum States of Light
This book explains what quantum states of light look like. Of special interest, a single photon state is explained by using a wave picture, showing that it corresponds to the complementarity of a quantum. Also explained is how light waves are created by photons, again corresponding to the complementarity of a quantum. The author shows how an optical wave is created by superposition of a "vacuum" and a single photon as a typical example. Moreover, squeezed states of light are explained as "longitudinal" waves of light and Schrödinger's cat states as macroscopic superposition states.
