ABOUT THE BOOK The aim of this book is to share our experience and also encourage all couples who are still faithfully waiting on God for the gift of the fruit of the womb by encouraging them to continue to rely completely on God who is able to give joy and bring them (children), at a time when His name alone will be glorified. The author expresses the uneasiness and seriousness of childlessness, especially when you have given your life and your all to and have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. There is no way there would not be some kind of decline from faith to doubt; and, from doubt to giving up completely. The encouragement that this book gives is that God is able, and abundantly a...
As Christians when we are faced with challenges of life, we have two options or approaches to discuss the issue with God in prayer. First, we can pray that The Will of God be done on the issue. What we are saying by this is that we accept Gods decision on the issue whether it favour us or not. However, friends this is not an easy prayer to pray because most often deeply within we are afraid Gods will may be totally different from ours or that His will may not be what we would like. To pray that Gods Will be done over an issue requires a strong faith in the Lord and trust that God has our interest at heart and that He will never do anything inimical to our interest. For example, a couple wait...
The writer of the book of Ecclesiastes says that everything in life has a beginning and an ending. There is time to every purpose under the sun. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to uproot, etc. What he was saying is that everything in life has a foundation on which they are built. Therefore, there is nothing in the World that does not have one form of foundation or the other, including marriages. In this book, the author takes a critical look at various issues that do have negative effects on marriages while their foundations are being laid and before the knot is finally tied. It reveals various issues in the areas of courtship and traditional marriage ceremonies that may affect marriages in the future and at the same time highlighted what can be done by couples whose marriage is currently submerged in the troubled ocean by showing the way out of such quagmire.

Most families have one negative heritage or another associated with them. Some have struggled with these evil foundations for centuries. Others have accepted persistent reproaches as their lot in life. Yet others, in an attempt to change the tides of calamities, have sought for solutions in places that compounded their situation. What do you do when you notice the scourge of premature death in your family? How do you explain the persistence of poverty in the midst of plenty? Why do some family members work like elephants and eat like ants? Why are women in certain families unable to keep their husbands? Why is divorce a mark of identification for some families? These are the concerns we have chosen to address in this book on principles of dealing with evil heritage

It is ideologically driven to build a group of church historians who will tell the story of African Christianity, not Christianity in Africa, as an African story, by intentionally privileging the patterns of African agency without neglecting the noble roles played by missionaries. The effort has been to identify the major themes or story lines in African encounters and in the appropriation of the gospel. --from publisher description.
