In the 1980's and 1990's, the late Terry Golledge wrote ten Holmes masterful pastiches that perfectly captured Dr. Watson voice, as well as Holmes's personality and methods. Mr. Golledge passed away in 1996 before these stories could be published. In early 2022, Terry's son, Niel Golledge, reached out to Sherlockian editor David Marcum, who was electrified to read such wonderful previously lost tales about The Heroes of Baker Street. Now all of these valuable and sublime new additions to The Great Holmes Tapestry, once unknown except to a very few, are collected in an important new volume and available to the world. A Recollection (Introduction) I. The Pihdarus Papers II. The Case of the Woman at Margate III. The Grosvenor Square Furniture Van IV. The Merton Fiends V. The Addleton Tragedy VI. The Crown of Light VII. The Adventure of the Silk Scarf VIII. The Bickstone Lodge Affair (A Novella) IX. The Adventure of the Lonely Soldier X. At the age of ten in the mid-1970's, David Marcum discovered Mr. Sherlock Holmes, and from that point, he knew that the original 60 Canonical adventures would never be enough. This, coupled with his life-long desire to write, meant that eventually he would find a way to add new stories to The Great Holmes Tapestry. Since then, in addition to editing over 80 volumes (most of which are Sherlockian anthologies), David has written and published over 100 Sherlockian adventures in a variety of his own books, as well as anthologies and magazines. Now these are being collected - along with a few others that haven't been seen before. These first five volumes of The Collected Papers of Sherlock Holmes contained 77 of David's Holmesian stories, and now we present Volume VI - Muniments - with 21 more! Join us as we return to Baker Street and discover more authentic adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the man described by the estimable Dr. Watson as "the best and wisest . . . whom I have ever known."
The focus of this report is Lord Bhatia's use of the Members' Reimbursement Scheme between 1 October 2007 and 1 January 2009, regarding his designation of a flat in Reigate as his main residence whilst still owning and spending the majority of his time at a family home in Hampton. The Sub-committee on Lords' Conduct found that Lord Bhatia's interpretation of "main residence" was unreasonable and that he did not act in good faith in designating the Reigate property and in claiming for overnight subsistence and travel. Lord Bhatia appealed to the full Committee against the Sub-committee's findings and recommendations. The Committee upholds the findings of the Sub-committee, and recommends that he makes a personal statement of apology to the House and is then suspended from the House for one year or until she has repaid the sum of £27,446 wrongly claimed, whichever is the later.
