Les registres de la paroisse Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville s'ouvert en 1789. La municipalité de la paroisse de Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville a été erigée le 1 juillet 1845. Elle est devenue la ville de Blainville en 1968. La municipalité du village de Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville (dans la même paroisse) a été erigée le 1 juin 1849. Il est devenu la ville de Sainte-Thérèse sur le 22 décembre 1916. L'église se trouve dans la ville de Sainte-Thérèse et maintenant le nom de la paroisse est Sainte-Thérèse-d'Avila.
