On 10 November 2004 the Minister for Local Government, the Hon Tony Kelly MLC convened a Public Inquiry into Tweed Shire Council, pursuant to Section 740 of the Local Government Act. The inquiry came about in response to recent press reports and correspondence to the Minister from the local community which highlighted concerns about the manner in which a number of planning decisions had been conducted. This is the first report of the inquiry. A second report has also been issued in August 2005.
