Yigal Allon
Yigal Allon was a major contributor to the nation building process of the State of Israel. He did so from multiple positions he held in government. Between 1961 and 1968 he served as Labor Minister. In 1968 he became the Absorption minister and from 1969 to 1974 he served as Minister of Education. In his last role, 1974-1977, he held Israel's foreign policy helm, encouraging countries and leaders to engage with Israel. When the very bright Andrew fails the test by giving different answers than the rest of the class to simple math questions, his teacher decides to question him further. Surprisingly, Andrew’s responses are not what is expected, but are instead creative and out-of-the-box answers. His teacher asks the easiest possible question: “How much is 1+1?” Andrew comes up with several different answers, each justified in a logical, but totally different way of thinking. The bewildered teacher concludes that she must accept, appreciate, and even encourage this type of thinking, giving Andrew an A. Submerged Prehistory
Major events of human prehistory such as the post-glacial recolonization of Northern Europe and the spread of agriculture through the Mediterranean took place on landscapes that are now, at least partially, underwater. Large parts of this submerged terrain are accessible to divers and can be investigated archaeologically. Prehistoric underwater research has emerged in recent decades as a distinct sub-discipline, developing approaches and methodologies that can be applied in coastal regions worldwide.
