Archimode
En 2015, la villa Noailles fête les 30 ans du Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères qui a lieu du 23 au 27 avril. Toute l'année, l'ensemble de la programmation du centre d'art met à l'honneur la mode. L'exposition ARCHIMODE présente un six projets collaboratifs entre des maisons de mode et des agences d'architectes. Dessins originaux, maquettes d'étude, making off, ARCHIMODE rassemble des documents rares qui offrent une vision précise et intime du travail des architectes et de leur relation avec les créateurs, qu'il s'agissent de boutique, d'architectures mobiles, de décors ou de building. Sont présentés : le Mobile Art de Zaha Hadid pour Chanel, le building LVMH à New York par Christian de Portzemparc, le Prada Transformer de Rem Koolhaas, les boutiques de Kris Van Assche et d'Isabel Marant par Ciguë et la boutique de Damir Doma par Diplomates.
Karl Lagerfeld: Villa Noailles
Built at the beginning of the 20th century by the Bauhaus-inspired architect Rob Mallet-Stevens in Hyères in Southern France, the Villa de Noailles is a place of timeless modernity. Despite its incredible charm, the building was abandoned and fell into oblivion, but was rediscovered in the early 1990s as the embodiment of what was regarded modern toward the end of the last century. Artists such as Man Ray, Luis Buñuel, Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau lived and worked here, inspiring and taking inspiration from their hosts. The dream of modernity slowly succumbed to the passage of time, the wear and tear of war leaving little more than shadows of an architecture behind. In this volume, Karl Lagerfeld explores its secrets with his camera.
The Modernist Garden in France

David Dubois a été invité à concevoir dans le lieu historique et prestigieux, de la Villa Noailles, à Hyères (construite dans les années 1920 par l'architecte Robert Mallet-Stevens pour Charles de Noailles), le mobilier de l'une des chambres pour résidence d'artiste, la chambre n°3. Le designer a reçu carte blanche pour réaliser ce mobilier : lit, chaise, bureau, rangements... des créations simples, fonctionnelles aux lignes originales.
