Joseph Leigh from England, 1682-1998
Joseph Leigh was born about 1682 in Dublin, Ireland, and lived in London, England. He died 13 May 1740 in Amswell Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Joseph married Thankful Smith (c.1687-1730/1) about 1718 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
The Butterworth Family of Maryland and Virginia
Isaac Butterworth was born in 1734 in England and immigrated to Bedford Co., Virginia. He married Avarilla Gilbert, and died in 1766. His son, Benjamin, was born that same year, and in 1786 married Rachel Moorman; he died in 1833.
Malone and Allied Families
Daniel Malone was born in Ireland in about 1643. He immigrated to America in about 1655. In 1665 he was living in Virginia. He is believed to be the earliest Malone ancestor to settle in Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere.
