James Walter Lott was born 7 February 1872 in Provo, Utah. He was the son of Isaiah B. Lott and Lavonia Andrews who were early Mormon pioneers. James married Maggie Laverne Norton 14 September 1898 in the Salt Lake Mormon Temple. They lived in Utah and were the parents of five children. Descendants lived in Utah, Idaho, California and elsewhere.
