James Brandon (b.1714) was the son of William Brandon (b.1688) and Isabel of London, England. He emigrated to Hanover, Dauphin, Penn. He married Annie. They raised five sons. Their son William (d.1778) married Elizabeth Irvine of Lunenburg County, Virginia. She was the daughter of David Irvine. They raised four sons and two daughters. Son, John M. Brandon Sr. born in Halifax County, Virginia married Mary Lawson, daughter of John Lawson and Mary Irvine. He died in York County, South Carolina. They raised eleven children. Descendants lived in Gwinnett and Jackson County, Georgia. Family members were buried in the Brandon Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Children of Thomas Jefferson Brandon were born in Arkansas, Louisiana, Iowa and Utah. Several members of the family were converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 1830's.
